Please note that these are currently only quotes. Euston Our recommendation is that the programme will be similar to this year i.e. plats 9-11 every 6 weeks which will be 9 time__substg1.0_0E0A0102*.__substg1.0_0E1D001E* __substg1.0_1000001E* __substg1.0_10090102*#s this year. Price currently 1124 per platform per clean = 3372 per visit. I would think it prudent to allow 1200 per platform for 06/07 as we havent had price confirmed yet = 3600 per visit x 9 = 32400pa + 3 single platform visits for say plats 8 & 17 which are done on ad hoc basis. Total costs forecast for 06-07 would be 36,000. Please note we are not yet including isolation costs etc which we currently fund ourselves as we do litter pick at same time. Barking - The breakdown of the 65 cost of disposing of the ballast is: * Landfill site charges for taking the ballast - 62.50 (per ton) * Haulage from the LDC to the landfill - 2.50 (per ton). This can vary as we dont always use the same haulier. * There are also costs associated with consigning the waste that move the ballast (i.e. advising the Environment Agency that we are creating and moving hazardous waste) and various form filling. The Environment Agency then charges for the consignment notes it gives on a bi-annual basis, one for each lorry move (but the 65 should reflect this cost) Not included in the 65 is the cost of moving the contaminated ballast to Crewe Local Distribution Centre (LDC) Had the ballast not been contaminated, it would have actually been sold to the LDC, who would sell it on as recycled aggregate. We would get approximately 3/ton. Therefore the total cost of dealing with this ballast is really 68, to include our lost sale. 223 yards is being re-ballasted, and that a yard produces around 1.5 to 2 tonnes of ballast. As such, the additional cost arising from the contamination of the ballast should be between 22,000 and 30,000 (breakdown attached for anyone who wants to check the maths!). Bio Spraying Barking In addition we have asked for an estimate of bio-spraying costs at Barking post re-ballasting to be produced. This should ensure that we do not encounter this problem again. The next stage is to meet to discuss these costs forward, could you please suggest potential dates as soon as possible.
